Workshop A:
Title: “Monoclonal Antibody Therapy (MABS) for Patients with Refractory Asthma”
Workshop: This workshop will identify and discuss current MAB therapies used in NHSG; who gets what biologic treatment and how the treatment regime is given

Workshop B:

Title: “Spirometry for Beginners”

Workshop: This session is designed for someone with limited spirometry experience. There will be a short presentation on basic spirometry terminology and quality, followed by a practical basic interpretation session.

Workshop C:

Title: “Advanced Spirometry” Workshop: This workshop will look at interpreting spirometry; what does your result tell you and how to know if a result is abnormal.

Workshop D:

Title: “Sneezes and Wheezes; Allergic Rhinitis in Respiratory Disease”

Workshop: Exploring the link between allergic rhinitis and airway disease. Developing an understanding of how to diagnose allergic rhinitis and how to manage it to help optimise management of underlying airway disease.

Title: “Inhaler Technique”

Workshop: This workshop will provide an overview on inhaler technique. Presenter: Alison Copland, Specialist Respiratory Pharmacist, and Kirsty Drew, Pharmacy Technician, NHS Grampian

Workshop F:

Title: “Chest Examination – The Practicalities”

Workshop: A session for nursing and allied health professionals focusing on the practicalities of chest examination and putting clinical signs into context. Delegates will have the opportunity to interact with the PODS/respiratory sound discs as an indicator of what sounds may be heard in particular pathologies.

Workshop G:

Title: “Asthma Right Care”

Workshop: Over reliance on Short acting Beta2 agonist (SABA) is a sign of poor control in asthma. Using ARC tools this interactive workshop will explore what exactly do we mean by too much SABA and how can we tackle the problem to challenge behaviours and promote living well with asthma.

Workshop H:

Title: “Step Down in Asthma and COPD”

Workshop: There continues to be an over-prescribing of inhaled corticosteroids in obstructive airways disease – asthma and COPD. This workshops will help delegates understand the risks of over-prescribing ICS, how to identify patients suitable for step down and how to safely step patients down in both asthma and COPD

Workshop I:

Title: “Dysfunctional Breathing”

Workshop: Recognising dysfunctional breathing in Respiratory patients is becoming an important aspect of management. This workshop will explore the identification of abnormal pattern breathing, help delegates understand the importance of this and to help patients with the management of abnormal breathing patterns.

Title: “Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Remote Monitoring and Mask Fit”

Workshop: This workshop will focus on:

1) Remote monitoring of patients with obstructive sleep apnoea; what data do we see? 2) Update in mask types for obstructive sleep apnoea and how to fit them.

Workshop L:

Title: “E-Cigarettes/Vaping Devices – Current Evidence and Position”

Workshop: A discussion around the latest evidence surrounding electronic cigarettes / vaping devices and their role within smoking cessation.
