Ms Joan Ingram OBE broadcaster, journalist and media company director.

Joan Ingram is a graduate of both Dundee (MA in politics and jurisprudence 1981) and Aberdeen (MBA 1996} Universities. She began her broadcasting career in 1982 at Radio Tay but within a year, she joined Grampian Television as a reporter and presenter for the nightly news programme North Tonight. She also presented a number of political and current affairs programmes until she left the station in 1996 but continued freelance work until 1999.

In 1993 she set up her own Aberdeen-based change management, communications and media company, The Fifth Business which now operates from offices in London, Houston and The Hague. She was a runner-up in the Scottish Businesswomen’s Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year Award in 2000; she served on the board of the Aberdeen Sports Village from 2003-09 and on the NHS Pay Review Body from 2012-18.

She was awarded an OBE in 2018 for services in the field of healthcare.
